Chiropractor Dr David Mruz answers your questions about chiropractic.

Who benefits from a chiropractor?

Anyone who has a spine can benefit from a chiropractor! My primary focus is helping Greenville residents with back pain, neck pain, or headaches. Everyday activities can put stress on our bodies, and bad posture or trauma aggravates that stress. Visiting the chiropractor can help improve your spine health and posture. Chiropractic is also especially helpful when your body is going through unusual changes such as pregnancy, strenuous athletic competition, or recovering from a car accident.

What will my first appointment with a chiropractor be like?

Your first appointment at our Greenville office will include a consultation with Chiropractor Dr David Mruz. The first priority for our office is to make sure that chiropractic care is a good fit for your condition, so that you can expect positive results.  A focused examination may follow after your consultation.
You can find out more details on your first appointments on our What to Expect page.

Will I need X-rays?

X-rays and other types of imaging studies can be helpful. Pictures of your spine, especially after trauma, can confirm our other findings and make your care more effective.  X-rays can also rule out other medical conditions which may exist. We will learn if x-rays are necessary after completing our initial examination.  In some cases a referral will be made to a diagnostic facility here in Greenville to gain the insight of a medical radiologist.

When will I get my first adjustment?

Some people are treated right away, while others require a slower approach. This is a clinical decision that is customized for the maximum benefit of each patient.
We deal with this in a little more detail on our What To Expect page.

How long until I feel better?

Some patients experience almost instant relief. Others discover that the healing process may take days, weeks, or months. Every patient recovers at their own pace. Factors which can affect your healing process include your age, how long you’ve had the condition,  your overall health, muscle tone, diet and even your outlook.

Will I receive any medication for my pain?

No. Chiropractors don’t dispense drugs. Because we rely on natural methods, you may be provided with directions on how to use natural pain control methods to aid painful symptoms.  If your desire is to use medication for pain relief, we are happy to refer you to one of the many fine Greenville area medical physicians who we maintain professional referral relationships with.

How much does it cost?

The cost of chiropractic care can vary depending on your insurances’ network fee schedule as well as the type and procedures of each visit.
