Chiropractic Greenville SC FAQs
Who visits the chiropractor?
Anyone who has a spine can visit the chiropractor! Everyday activities put stress on our bodies, and bad posture aggravates that stress. Visiting the chiropractor can help improve your spine health and posture. Chiropractic is also especially helpful when your body is going through unusual changes such as pregnancy, strenuous athletic competition, or recovering from a car accident.
What will my first appointment be like?
On your first visit, you’ll meet the doctor after filling out some paperwork describing you, your health history and your health goals. Dr. Mruz will then sit down with you for a comprehensive consultation. The first priority of our office is to to be sure that chiropractic care is a good fit for your condition, so that we can expect positive results. If Dr. Mruz believes that another type of doctor or different form of care may be more beneficial to achieve your health goal, he will quickly make that recommendation and can make that referral.
If Dr. Mruz believes that he can help, then the next step is an examination which may include orthopedic, neurological and range-of-motion testing. We’ll study the way you turn and bend and we may test your reflexes. These tests help us locate areas of your spine that could be the cause of your problem, and the findings help to determine whether additional testing such as x-ray or perhaps a referral for an MRI may be necessary. Part of your examination may include analysis with the Pro-Adjuster® System. The Pro-Adjuster is a computerized analysis and treatment instrument that can also provide gentle chiropractic care. Dr. Mruz will always attempt to provide some manner of first aid relief for your pain on your very first visit!
After your evaluation, Dr. Mruz reviews the findings with you and suggests personalized treatment, if appropriate. With a plan in place to fulfill your health goals, future visits will take just minutes. The purpose of these visits will be to get you out of pain quickly and monitor the healing process.
You’ll join millions who have enjoyed better health without drugs or surgery.
Will I need X-rays?
X-rays and other types of images can be helpful. Pictures of your spine, especially after trauma, can confirm our other findings and make your care more precise. We can tell if we need them after completing our other examinations.
How long until I feel better?
Some patients experience almost instant relief. Others discover that the healing process can take a few visits. Every patient recovers at their own pace. Factors which can affect the healing process include your age, your overall health condition, muscle tone, diet and even your attitude.
When will I get my first adjustment?
Will I receive any medication for my pain?
No. Chiropractic doctors don’t dispense drugs. Because we rely on natural methods, ask for directions on how to use ice to control any painful symptoms. Ice, when properly applied, can have an analgesic effect without the side effects associated with pain medications.
How much does it cost?
The cost of chiropractic care varies depending on the type and length of each visit. Many insurance companies cover chiropractic, so please contact your insurance provider to find out whether your plan includes a chiropractic benefit. Our office can also help with any questions you may have about your coverage, so don’t hesitate to give Colin (our insurance expert!) a call at 864-292-6777 to learn more about your benefits. If you are covered, your rates may vary depending upon your plan provisions and the participation of our office within that plan. We are in network with Blue Cross/Blue Shield, UHC and many other carriers. If your plan does not have a chiropractic benefit, or you have a high deductible or no coverage, there is no reason to delay receiving much needed care. Our staff will be happy to discuss and make special arrangement for your particular circumstances.
