Backstage at Winter Jam 2011: The Chiropractor’s Experience

Winter Jam 2011 came to the Greenville BI-LO Center last week and I was blessed to serve as chiropractor to the performing artists. The purpose of Winter Jam is to use popular music styles to proclaim the redeeming message of Christ. Respected speaker Tony Nolan shared a powerful Gospel message to the 15000+ people who attended. This year’s music lineup included:

So, what’s a chiropractor doing at Winter Jam?
My job was to be available for any artists or crew who wanted a chiropractic “tune up” prior to their performance. Singers and musicians have found great value in chiropractic care as a way to stay at the top of their ability while negotiating the arduous life on the road. Check out my YouTube channel to see what the artists thought.
The rigors of a production like Winter Jam 2011 are substantial to all involved. Many tour buses and trucks arrived at the Greenville BI-LO Center at 4:30 AM the morning of the concert. The loading in began shortly after with a complete stage assembly and electronic and lighting setup constructed for all 10 performing acts. The doors opened at 5:30 PM with Chris Sligh leading off at 6:00 PM. The show ended at 10:35 PM and the whole production was re-packed into the trucks. The trucks left Greenville at 1:30 AM for the 5 hour drive to the next show in Birmingham, AL.
