Want to Add a Personal Touch to Your Bike?

The cycling community is vast and diverse.  Some cyclists ride purely for recreational purposes, some are weekend warriors; finding races to compete in in local and regional cities throughout the southeast, and a rare few actually make their living racing bicycles. A common denominator of a pro bicycle is the name of the owner/cyclist on the top tube of the bike.  The cool factor is high, but it also serves an important function to identify the bike at a race. Late Night Diet Sabotage

Avoid Late Night Binges with a High Protein Morning Meal It’s 11 o'clock at night and you’ve just scarfed down a slice of leftover pizza and a few too many Oreo cookies. The satisfying taste of salty and sweet is quickly overcome by guilt, frustration, and what is now an uncomfortably full belly. After eating balanced meals and healthy snacks all day, you have just performed self-sabotage by your late-night craving for junk food. How can you avoid this self-defeating debacle? [...]

Don't "Believe" In Chiropractic? That's Okay. You Don't Have To. Here's Why... For years, chiropractors have been treating back pain patients as well as, if not superior to, other health care professions. In fact, all of the guidelines published around the world have recommended manipulative care as an initial or first step for the treatment of low back pain and more recently, for neck pain. So why are there still some people who say things like, "I don't believe in chiropractic," [...]

According to the Johns Hopkins Health Alerts, quite a bit.         The Health Alert entitled, "Back Pain and Osteoporosis Special Report: The Mind Body Connection," reads "A growing number of studies affirm that the mind-body connection also plays a role in back pain, both in setting off an initial 'back [...]

These "Weekly Health Updates" are exclusively for the friends and patients of Dr. David Mruz "A healthy attitude is contagious but don't wait to catch it from others. Be a carrier." ~ Tom Stoppard Mental Attitude: No Interruptions Please. Short interruptions (such as the few seconds it takes to silence that buzzing smart phone) have a surprisingly large effect on one's ability to accurately complete a task. Interruptions of just three seconds can double your chances for making errors. Journal of Experimental Psychology: [...]

Consider your drive to work this morning.  What happens when traffic signals get out of sync, or quit working completely?  Chaos, of course: confused drivers, traffic gridlock and fender benders tend to result. Your body’s cells are not all that different. A interruption of your body’s “central clock,” like what happened this weekend after turning your clock forward an hour for Daylight Saving Time, can potentially disrupt the millions of activities and pathways that keep us running smoothly. Not unlike the [...]
